Balochistan to send acid attack victim abroad for treatment

The Balochistan government has announced that acid attack victim Dr Mahnoor Nasar will be sent abroad for specialised medical treatment, officials said on Friday.
According to Chief Minister’s aide Shahid Rind, arrangements are being made to transfer the injured doctor overseas after completion of her initial treatment in Pakistan. He said the provincial government is taking all necessary steps to facilitate her medical care abroad.
Dr Mahnoor Nasar is currently receiving treatment at Aga Khan University Hospital, where doctors are continuing her care. Officials stated that she will remain under treatment at the facility for at least one more week before being shifted for further medical intervention.
Shahid Rind said that after the completion of the ongoing phase of treatment, the provincial government plans to send the doctor to the United States for advanced and specialised medical care. He added that all required administrative and procedural arrangements have already been initiated to ensure a smooth transfer.
He further stated that the government is committed to providing the best possible healthcare facilities to the victim and is utilising all available resources to support her recovery. Authorities have emphasised that her condition is being closely monitored by medical experts.
The announcement has been widely noted as part of the government’s broader efforts to ensure timely and high-quality treatment for victims of severe injuries. Officials have not disclosed further details about her medical condition but confirmed that specialist care is required due to the severity of the injuries.
The case has drawn attention across the country, highlighting concerns about violence against medical professionals and the need for stronger preventive measures. The provincial government has reiterated its resolve to support the victim at every stage of her treatment and recovery process.
